Deloitte bolsters 'Operations Excellence' advisory services

11 senior staff from IBM, including Partner Bill Kane and Associate Partner Geoff Gibbons, have joined Deloitte to strengthen their established Operations Excellence team. The team advise clients on how to successfully implement organisational strategies through the enhancement of processes and operations. They advise a range of industries in both private and public sectors.

Bill Kane previously led IBM's Operations Strategy business in EMEA and was also IBM's Global Lean Six Sigma Leader. Developed over the past 10 years in PwC, and then IBM, the team is recognised as market leading and has won major operations excellence and Lean Six Sigma assignments in the UK and Europe. The combined team in Deloitte is now one of the most extensively experienced in the industry with over 150 people, including many with the most senior level of Lean Six Sigma accreditation: Master Black Belt.

Bill Kane commented on the reasons behind his move to Deloitte: “Deloitte’s reputation in the marketplace for providing impartial and highly respected advice on operations strategy is steadily growing so it is very much the logical next step.”

Alastair James, a Deloitte partner who leads the Operations Excellence practice said: “We saw this recruitment as an opportunity to significantly enhance the technical depth and industry breadth of our established team. We are developing an advisory capacity within Deloitte that will be second to none. It was a perfect fit.”

Other team members that have joined Deloitte from IBM are Peter Jordan, Andrew O'Brien, Nicola Milne, Steve Kyle, Peter Brooke, Annika Osterberg, Xavier Muller, Peter Hicks and Bianca Banda.

The team works from executive to shop floor level providing operations strategy, Lean and Six Sigma services in the context of broad based operational transformation.
